Official | Loïc Badé completes permanent move to Sevilla from Rennes

Sevilla have this afternoon announced the permanent signing of French defender Loïc Badé, who had been with the club on loan from Rennes during the second half of this past season.

The 23-year-old has bounced back from a fruitless spell at Nottingham Forest – he did not make a single appearance with the newly-promoted Premier League side – to become a regular in Andalusia, playing a key role in securing the club’s top-flight status for next season as well as a Europa League win.

The French youth international had jokingly asked Monchi whether he would buy him in the midst of the Europa League celebrations – which the club’s Sporting Director appeared to confirm. Badé has now signed a contract which will run until 2027. During his half-season in Spain, he will have made 19 league appearances – more than in his sole full campaign with Rennes, who he had joined from Lens for €17m back in 2021. The Bretons will now receive a reported €12m fee after the La Liga outfit triggered the permanent clause in his loan agreement.
