Maghnes Akliouche (21) has extended his contract with AS Monaco until 2026, settling doubts about the Frenchman’s future at the Principality club.
L’Équipe revealed last week that the La Diagonale Academy youth product had reached an agreement to extend his stay at the Principality club.
Akliouche had been linked with a move away from his formative club. According to L’Équipe, Monaco turned down a €10m offer for Akliouche from French rivals Stade Rennais in January. Lille OSC also have a long-standing interest in the player. The player’s entourage has also been vocal in the media, evoking a potential loan or permanent move during an interview with Nice-Matin during the winter transfer window.
The France youth international’s current deal was set to expire at the end of next season, but he has now extended his stay at the Principality club until 2026. “Maghnes is a talented player that is progressing and who Monaco trust. It is up to Maghnes to reap the benefits of this favourable environment to continue his progression and help the club reach its objectives,” said outgoing sporting director Paul Mitchell in a press release from the club
