Lyon have this morning announced the departure of winger Mateus Tetê for Leicester, with the Brazilian’s loan deal from Shakhtar Donetsk ending early as he makes the move across the Channel.
Tetê had joined the club back in March of last year in the wake of the amended transfer rules put in place as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and his loan was extended in the summer. He leaves Les Gones having scored eight goals and registered ten assists in total. The 22-year-old was originally set to stay with Laurent Blanc’s men until the end of the season, with the club currently sitting in 9th place in Ligue 1.
He joins the Foxes on a deal running until the end of the season. The Premier League strugglers become the Brazilian youth international’s third club in Europe, having made the move to Ukraine after coming up through the ranks at Grêmio. He scored 25 goals in 75 appearances for Shakhtar
