Official | Régis Le Bris extends contract as Lorient manager until 2027

Lorient have tonight announced that head coach Régis Le Bris, along with the entirety of his staff, has extended his contract with the club by two years, up until 2027.

The 47-year-old has impressed in his first season at the reins of the senior side, having initially joined the club in 2012 as academy director. During his time at the helm, the club’s U17 side were French champions, while he also managed the reserves.

Les Merlus’ impressive start to the campaign saw them string together six consecutive wins in the autumn, a run of form which had them second in the table only to Paris Saint-Germain. Having lost two key players in Dango Ouattara and Terem Moffi back in January, the team have been able to bounce back and are still in the race for a European spot. With ten games to go, they sit six points behind fellow Bretons Rennes in fifth place.
