Stade de Reims have officially announced the signing of forward Reda Khadra (22) from Brighton. The 22-year-old was entering the final year of his contract with the Seagulls after spending the past season on loan at Birmingham City. He registered five goals and two assists in 32 games played in all competitions with the Blues. A versatile forward who can play as a winger or an attacking midfielder, Khadra has signed a four-year deal with the Will Still-led Champagne side.
The Borussia Dortmund youth product is the fifth signing of the summer for Reims following the arrivals of veteran goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle (40), central midfielder Teddy Teuma (29) as well as promising forwards Oumar Diakité (19) and Amine Salama (23). “I’ve been following the French league. I watch a lot of Ligue 1 games“, Khadra said. “As a matter of fact, my first game with the Germany U21 team was against France, and we lost.” The 22-year-old also adds that he considers Franck Ribéry as his role model.
