Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombélé (26) will spend the remainder of the 2023-24 season on loan at Turkey Süper Lig club Galatasaray, both clubs have officially announced.
The Istanbul-based club and Spurs have agreed to a season-long loan including a €15m permanent option for the France international. Ndombélé remains tied with the resurgent Premier League side over a contract that runs until 2025. The Olympique Lyonnais youth product joined North London from his formative club in July 2019 in a €62m deal. He has scored ten goals in 91 appearances for Spurs. Ndombélé previously turned down the opportunity to join the Turkey Süper Lig.
The 26-year-old France international already spent last season away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He was loaned out to SSC Napoli but played a mostly peripheral role in their title-winning campaign, starting only eight Serie A sides for the Partenopei. Ndombélé has not made Ange Postecoglou’s matchday squads since the start of the Premier League season.
Ndombélé won’t be the sole Tottenham player signing for Galatasaray this summer as centre-back Davinson Sánchez has signed a four-year deal with the Turkish side for a €9m transfer fee.
