Paul Pogba made his much-awaited return to action with Juventus during their 4-2 win over Torino in the historic Turin derby last night. The French midfielder, who last played a competitive club match on 19th April 2022 with Manchester United against Liverpool, came on as a substitute in the 69th minute of the game.
Pogba’s return was met with excitement from the Juventus fans, who gave him a warm ovation as he stepped onto the pitch.
Pogba waited patiently for four minutes for a stoppage in play before he could come on. His introduction proved significant as he assisted Federico Chiesa in setting up a goal before Juventus took the lead following a header from Gleison Bremer off a corner.
Pogba has been a long term absence for both France and Juventus this season, missing out on the Les Bleus’ World Cup run to the final in Qatar. The Frenchman returned to Juventus last summer after a six year spell at Manchester United.
