French international midfielder Paul Pogba (29) is nearing a return to action with Juventus. The former Manchester United man played 50 minutes of a friendly game with the team’s U23 squad this Thursday, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, in what was the Frenchman’s first Juventus game since a Las Vegas pre-season match against Guadalajara Chivas on July 30th. Pogba has been sidelined following an injury to the lateral meniscus of his right knee. Pogba underwent surgery in early September and hoped to be fit and ready to make the France squad for the World Cup. Unfortunately, his rehabilitation process took longer than expected and Les Bleus went on to the final without him.

Paul Pogba’s return is welcome news for Juventus, after their 15-point deduction leaves them tenth-placed in the Serie A standings. Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri may call up Pogba when the Bianconeri host promoted side Monza this Sunday afternoon for Serie A gameweek 20.
