With his move to FC Nantes impending, Andy Delort will be absent as OGC Nice face Lille on Sunday. Both sides are looking to close the gap to the European places.
Delort has been linked with a departure since the beginning of the window, and his absence is no surprise. Much was made of the renewed partnership between Delort and Gaëtan Laborde, who played together at Montpellier, but the pair have ultimately rarely featured together in Les Aiglons’ attack.
Didier Digard’s arrival has heralded a change of shape, meaning that Nice will likely align with a front three. Nicolas Pépé will feature in the attack, as he has for much of the season, whilst Sofiane Diop could get the nod on the opposite wing. There are still places to be won in the midfield. Khéphren Thuram is almost a guaranteed starter, but Ross Barkley, Aaron Ramsey, Hicham Boudaoui, Pablo Rosario and Alexis Beka Beka are all in competition for just two spots.
Nice predicted lineup v Lille
Kasper Schmeichel – Melvin Bard, Dante, Jean-Clair Todibo, Jordan Lotomba – Khéphren Thuram, Hicham Boudaoui, Ross Barkley – Sofiane Diop, Gaëtan Laborde, Nicolas Pépé.
