Predicted Rennes XI v Marseille

Ligue 1’s fifth-placed side Rennes will host second-placed Marseille tonight at a sold-out Roazhon Park, in a crucial match for the European spots. Les Rouge et Noir will try to pile more misery on Les Phocéens and inflict a third loss on the bounce in all competitions on them. R

ennes are on the way up after picking up two Ligue 1 wins in a row against Clermont and arch-rivals Nantes. If the Bruno Génésio-led side were to win tonight, they would only have a 3-point deficit on Marseille. It’s make or break time for Rennes, who will also host Champions League hopefuls Lens and Monaco in the latter stages of the season.

Génésio is expected to field Tottenham loanee Djed Spence (22) in the right-back role, as Malian skipper Hamari Traoré (31) is on path to recovery after sustaining a thigh tear. Rennes v Marseille will kick-off tonight at 8:45 pm local time.

Rennes likely lineup against Marseille

Steve Mandanda – Djed Spence, Warmed Omari, Arthur Theate, Adrien Truffert – Jérémy Doku, Benjamin Bourigeaud, Baptiste Santamaria, Karl Toko Ekambi – Arnaud Kalimuendo, Amine Gouiri.
