PSG boss Christophe Galtier speaks on Keylor Navas Nottingham Forest move

Speaking in his press conference before Paris Saint-Germain play Reims this weekend at the Parc des Princes, manager Christophe Galtier spoke about the potential departure of goalkeeper Keylor Navas (36) to Premier League side Nottingham Forest. The following was transcribed by RMC Sport

He first of all acknowledged that Navas is a “strong competitor and has performed well since the beginning of the season,”added that he acknowledges the former Real Madrid man’s “personal feelings” and that “the PSG hierarchy is considering them,” on a move to the Premier League.

“We’ll see the reality of the squad after the transfer window,” added the former Lille and Nice boss, “But because of the man and because of his career, we must respect him, and we must listen to him.”

It was reported earlier today that the Costa Rica international goalkeeper agreed to join Nottingham Forest. After initially hesitating over the proposal, Navas ultimately accepted the offer from the Premier League side, whose starting goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, recently sustained an injury and is expected to be out for several weeks.

Navas had previously turned down an approach from Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club led by Rudi Garcia, where Cristiano Ronaldo recently joined. Navas preferred to play in a European league and had interest from both Forest and Bournemouth during the transfer window, but Forest reportedly came with the most concrete approach.
