PSG concerned about Neymar injury

L’Équipe are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are worried about Neymar’s (30) ankle injury after the Brazilian was rested for Wednesday’s win against Montpellier.

Les Parisiens were without Neymar for the entirety of the match, and without Kylian Mbappé (24) for much of it, but still won 3-1 to maintain their lead at the top of Ligue 1. However, PSG will have harder fixtures this month. The club will face Olympique de Marseille twice, Bayern Munich twice, AS Monaco and Lille OSC in the space of under a month.

They may have to tackle the brutal schedule without two of their renowned front three. L’Équipe is reporting that Mbappé is a major doubt for PSG’s Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, whilst he will certainly miss the Coupe de France tie against Marseille.

Neymar’s ankle is also a source of concern. The Brazilian was rested on Wednesday, and internally at PSG there are doubts about his fitness.
