Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana (24) has cooled, according to a report by Nice-Matin, although there is reportedly still interest from four Premier League teams.
Like teammate Axel Disasi (25), Fofana is expected to leave Monaco this summer. The former Strasbourg midfielder arrived at the Stade Louis II in the summer of 2018, and this year broke into the France national team. The Monégasque model is predicated on sales, and it is thought that the upcoming window will be the right time to sell both players.
Speaking on France 2 show Quelle Epoque back in January, Fofana evoked a return to Paris, where he grew up. At the time, he said it would be “normal” to return to his childhood city, however, PSG’s interest in signing the player has since cooled, according to Nice-Matin.
However, there are still four unnamed Premier League teams interested in Fofana, who has experienced a dip in form since the return from the World Cup. With the Frenchaman’s contract set to expire in 2025, and no new deal in the offing, he will make a decision about his future before a France national team meeting in June.
