Foot Mercato are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain retain an interest in Zenit Saint-Petersburg forward Malcom (26), despite failing to bring the Brazilian to the Parc des Princes during the January transfer window.
The former Bordeaux and Barcelona winger was one of PSG’s main targets to replace the departed Pablo Sarabia in the winter transfer window. Les Parisiens were also interested in Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki, but ultimately switched their attention to Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech as the end of the transfer window approached. That move fell through due to the mishandling of paperwork from Chelsea, who were prepared to let the Moroccan international leave Stamford Bridge on loan until the end of the season.
However, PSG and Malcom’s entourage are still in contact despite the failure to complete the move in January, and he is therefore a potential summer target for Les Parisiens. The player himself wants to compete in European competition, which due to sanctions imposed on Russia, he cannot do at his current club.
PSG would potentially face competition from other European clubs for Malcom’s signature, with Zenit demanding between €30-35m for a player that has a contract that runs until 2027.
