RMC Sport report this afternoon that Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of completing the signing of French international winger Ousmane Dembélé from Barcelona.
The Ligue 1 champions are expected to trigger the World Cup winner’s release clause, which is valid until the end of the month and would see him move for no more than €50m. The former Rennes man’s release clause will double starting from next week, meaning that the French side are keen to get a deal over the line as soon as possible. The French international is under contract for another year, having extended after a long-running renewal saga last year that had seen him temporarily sidelined from the Barcelona squad.
The 26-year-old, who has been with the Blaugrana since 2017 after moving from Borussia Dortmund, is currently in talks with PSG, with negotiations said to be at an advanced stage. The club’s new head coach Luis Enrique, formerly of Barcelona, was keen on bringing in the Frenchman. RMC add that the arrival of Dembélé would have no bearing on Kylian Mbappé’s future, with the club ideally envisaging an attacking trio with the France captain on the left wing, and the prospective new arrival on the right flank.
L’Équipe have since reported that PSG are denying that advanced negotiations are underway with the winger.
