PSG want to keep Marquinhos amidst Saudi Arabian interest

L’Équipe are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain aim to keep club captain Marquinhos (29) amidst interest from Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this week, Sports Zone reported that PSG were looking to sell Marquinhos this summer. It was reported that the Brazilian defender’s comments on the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga angered the club’s management. However, contrary to those reports L’Équipe have revealed that Les Parisiens have no intention of letting Marquinhos leave this summer.

Multiple Saudi clubs have made attempts to sign the defender in recent days, but PSG have pushed back against these advances. Marquinhos himself is also against a departure from the Parc des Princes, and wants to continue with PSG, a desire evidenced by his recent contract extension, which ties him to the club until 2028.

PSG are, however, not closed to the idea of selling Marco Verratti, who is also attracting interest from the Gulf State. There is currently a gulf in the evaluation of the Italian international that must be overcome.
