L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi is reporting that Lionel Messi (35) will be available to face AC Ajaccio this weekend, following the early lifting of a two-week suspension.
As initially reported by RMC Sport and Canal Plus, Messi’s two-week suspension, which the World Champion incurred following an unsanctioned visit to Saudi Arabia, has been lifted after just a week after Messi publically apologised. He therefore returned to PSG’s training ground, the Camp des Loges on Monday to undergo an individual session. Following Les Parisiens’ 3-1 victory against ESTAC Troyes on Sunday, the rest of the squad was afforded a day off.
L’Équipe report that Messi will train with the rest of the squad this week, and will then be made available for selection when PSG face Ajaccio at the Parc des Princes on Saturday night. Despite the former Barcelona forward’s reintegration at PSG, Messi is still set to leave PSG when his contract expires next month. Barcelona, Inter Miami and Al-Hilal have targeted the 2022 World Cup winner.
