L’Équipe have revealed that Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos (28) will be available for the club’s Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, but won’t be 100% fit.
The Brazilian centre-back was forced off during Saturday night’s 4-2 victory over FC Nantes at the Parc des Princes and headed straight for the dressing rooms. His participation in Les Parisiens’ crucial Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich on Wednesday was, therefore, called into question.
However, post-match, Christophe Galtier allayed fears, stating that he didn’t believe that Marquinhos’ nor Nordi Mukiele’s (25) participation in the match against the German champions was in doubt. L’Équipe are now reporting that Marquinhos will be fit for the match, but won’t be at 100%.
The PSG captain suffered a tear between his ribs and continues to feel a sharp pain in the affected area. The medical staff at the club are doing everything they can in order to allow Marquinhos to start the match at the Allianz Arena. Mukiele, who suffered an achilles tendon injury against Nantes, is also expected to be, at the very least, partially fit to face Bayern Munich.
