In an official statement, Real Madrid have denied reports that they have entered in the negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé (24). The Spanish club have been long-time admirers of the France captain but have described recent reports claiming they are in negotiations with the 24-year-old as “false“.
Despite this denial of opening negotiations with Mbappé and his entourage, Madrid are expected to make a move to sign the forward before his contract expires at the Parc des Princes. The former Monaco attacker’s future beyond the end of the season remains unknown with several options on the table including a move to Liverpool who still have faith in signing him, according to L’Équipe. Another of those options is a contract extension with PSG with a meeting set between the two parties set for 2024 to discuss the prospect of a contract extension.
Los Blancos famously tried to sign Kylian Mbappé in 2022 before the France international committed to a two-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain. The saga between Mbappé and Madrid seems far from over with officials at the Santiago Bernabéu believing the PSG attacker will sign for the club. However, Madrid’s latest statement on the story has denied any negotiations between the club and the player as of yet.
Real Madrid’s official statement on the matter reads: “In view of the information recently issued and published by different media, in which speculates about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club, Real Madrid C. F. wants to state that this information is absolutely false and that there have been no such negotiations with a player belonging to PSG.”
