Rennes discussing Nayef Aguerd return, Davinson Sánchez and Rob Holding also feature on shortlist

During negotiations with West Ham United over the transfer of Jérémy Doku (21), Stade Rennais have brought up the possibility of bringing Nayef Aguerd (27) back to the club, according to Foot Mercato

Moroccan international Aguerd made the move from Rennes to West Ham last summer. He scored but was later sent off during a 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday, but could he be set to depart the Hammers?

His name has come up during negotiations between Rennes and West Ham. The two clubs are discussing the transfer of Doku. The Hammers’ first bid has been rejected, meanwhile, Manchester City have agreed personal terms with the Belgian international and discussions between Rennes and the Cityzens are ongoing.

Rennes may be in the market for a centre-back before the closure of the window with Arthur Theate (23) the subject of interest from Liverpool, Fulham and RB Leipzig. Tottenham Hotspur’s Davinson Sánchez (27) and Arsenal’s Rob Holding (27) are alternatives to Aguerd, who Rennes would be interested in taking on loan. The Moroccan would reportedly be open to a return to Ligue 1.
