Rennes predicted XI v Nice: Amine Gouiri set to face his former club

Amine Gouiri is set to start for Stade Rennais, as they prepare to come up against OGC Nice, at the Allianz Riviera on Saturday.

Gouiri made the switch from Nice to Rennes this summer with Gaëtan Laborde moving in the opposite direction. In 37 games for Rennes, he has scored 13 goals and made seven assists. He will start in a front line that is depleted by injury, Martin Terrier remains out until the end of the season, whilst he has been joined on the sidelines by Desiré Doué. Jérémy Doku, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Gouiri are therefore set to lead the line.

Lovro Majer, who has fallen down the pecking order at Rennes is expected to start on the bench, as is Tottenham Hotspur loanee Joe Rodon. Djed Spence, also on loan from Spurs, is set to miss out on the matchday squad altogether, although this is due to a choice made by Bruno Génesio, and not due to any injury.

Rennes likely lineup v Nice

Steve Mandanda, Jeanuël Belocian, Arthur Theate, Warmed Omari, Hamari Traoré – Flavien Tait, Baptiste Santamaria, Benjamin Bourgieaud – Amine Gouiri, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Jérémy Doku (L’Éq)
