Sergio Ramos likely to remain at PSG next season

L’Équipe are reporting that Sergio Ramos (37) looks likely to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain beyond the end of this season.

Ramos’ contract expires at the end of the season, but the tendency is towards an extension for the 2023/24 season. However, should he remain at the Parc des Princes, he won’t be called upon as often as he was this season.

The Spanish international has featured in 43 games in all competitions this season. Due to Presnel Kimpembe’s injury. which has ruled the Frenchman out for the majority of the season, Ramos has been a mainstay in PSG’s backline.

Reinforcements are arriving, however. Milan Škriniar (28) will arrive on a free transfer from Inter Milan, whilst further defensive reinforcements are being lined up. Notably, Les Parisiens are engaged in an attempt to sign Lucas Hernandez (27) from Bayern Munich, and according to L’Équipethere is already an agreement in principle in place with the player regarding personal terms. Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte (28) is an alternative, should PSG not get a deal for Hernandez over the line.
