Foot Mercato are reporting that Racing Club de Strasbourg striker Ludovic Ajorque (28) has agreed to join Bundesliga side FSV Mainz.
The French striker enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, scoring 12 goals in Ligue 1 as Strasbourg almost achieved European football. That form attracted interest from Hertha Berlin and Wolfsburg in the summer, although a transfer ultimately didn’t materialise.
This season, Ajorque, like the rest of the Strasbourg team, have failed to reach the same levels. The player came into the season injured, and he has since failed to find a rhythm, starting only nine matches this season, scoring just once. Ajorque is now once again being linked with a move to Germany.
According to Foot Mercato, Ajorque has already agreed to join Mainz, who currently sit 12th in the Bundesliga. The clubs are now in discussions over his transfer. Ajorque has just 18 months remaining on his contract with Strasbourg, having arrived at the Alsace club in 2018.
