Troyes’ English striker Levi Lumeka has driving licence confiscated after being clocked going 191 km/h

Former Crystal Palace youth product and current ESTAC Troyes forward Levi Lumeka (24) has had his driving licence confiscated after being clocked going 191km/h on a French motorway.

According to the local paper La République de Seine-et-Marne, the incident happened on the A5 motorway last Friday afternoon, two days before the club’s 2-2 draw against Stade Brestois. The car, a Mercedes GLE, was immediately seized and sent to the impound. Lumeka’s licence was confiscated by police and the player was fined €1500. He has also been summoned to a hearing in Melun, where a driving ban will likely be issued by the prefecture.

Since arriving at the Stade de l’Aube, the former Crystal Palace man has played a peripheral role. Since the summer of 2020, he has made just 21 appearances for the club, 15 of which came in Ligue 2. He scored twice during that time, but since Troyes’ promotion to Ligue 1, he has featured just five times in the league and made just one Coupe de France appearance. The Englishman is yet to feature this season.
