Rennes will face Wolves in their Molineux home on Saturday August 5th at 1pm local time, both clubs have announced. It will be Rennes’ and Wolves’ final pre-season friendly before their respective leagues resume. Rennes are used to playing their final pre-season game against a Premier League team. Last year, the Bruno Genesio-led side lost to Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa 2-1 at the Roazhon Park.

Stade Rennais have already faced a team coached by Julen Lopetegui recently. During the 2020-2021 Champions’ League group stage, Rennes drew Sevilla. Les Rouge et Noir eventually lost both games (3-1, 1-0) against the Andalusians and finished bottom of Group E.
Rennes will qualify, at least, for the UEFA Conference League should they beat Stade Brestois on Saturday night in Ligue 1’s final matchday. Meanwhile, Wolves finished their Premier League campaign in 13th place. The West Midlands side have added that ticket information for their friendly game against Rennes will be announced in due course.
