Chelsea target Victor Osimhen dreams of PSG move

According to Il Mattino, Victor Osimhen’s (25) time at Napoli is coming to an end, with owner Aurelio De Laurentiis ready to accept offers for his wantaway striker.

After ending a 33-year wait for a Scudetto, De Laurentiis was ready to gamble last summer, as he tried to keep hold of as much of his title-winning team as possible. It was a risk that never quite worked.

Luciano Spaletti, the architect behind their first league title since Diego Maradona was gone. The manager had left after a disagreement with the owner, while in defence Bayern Munich had met Kim Min-jae’s (27) release clause.

Gaps were beginning to form, but De Laurentiis held on tight to Osimhen. He rejected a €130 million offer from Saudi Arabia for Osimhen and fended off significant interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, after a poor season that has been wracked with injuries and simmering tension, De Laurentiis is now ready to cash in on the striker. And may reluctantly accept an offer below Osimhen’s €120 million release clause, although he still holds out hope.

The writing had been on the wall that this would be the last season for Osimhen, with De Laurentiis even telling the media that he had been preparing for the striker to leave since last summer. “That’s why the contract negotiations were so drawn out and amicable… but we knew perfectly well that he would go Real Madrid, to PSG or to an English team.

It’s unlikely that Real Madrid will move for Osimhen when they look set on finally securing Kylian Mbappé. This leaves PSG and the mystery English team that was later revealed to be Chelsea. And while the London club have been extremely keen on targeting the forward this summer, Il Mattino reports that PSG is Osimhen’s dream move.
