FULL DRAW | Marseille face Benfica in the Europa League quarter-finals

Olympique de Marseille survived a late scare against Villarreal as the Spanish side came within a goal of overturning a 4-0 deficit before a late Jonathan Clauss strike in injury time put the tie to bed.

Their reward for this will be a quarter-final in the UEFA Europa League against three-time finalists Benfica. The two sides have not met since the 2009/2010 competition, where the Portuguese side knocked Marseille out of the tournament.

Neither team has ever managed to win this competition before, with Benfica reaching the 2013 and 2014 finals, while Marseille lost the 2016 final to Atlético Madrid. This draw will see one of the two sides play either Liverpool or Atalanta in the semi-finals, as they hope to go one step further and finally grab this European silverware.

Benfica will host Marseille on the 11th of April before they have to travel to the Stade Vélodrome for the second leg a week after on the 18th.
