‘I think he is a copycat and a spiritual child of Guardiola’ – Daniel Riolo slams Luis Enrique following Mbappé substitution

On After Foot RMC, Daniel Riolo took aim at PSG manager Luis Enrique for his handling of the Kylian Mbappé (25) situation as he prepares to leave Paris Saint Germain for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Following the announcement of Mbappé’s decision to leave Les Parisiens at the end of the season, Luis Enrique has began to substitute the previously untouchable forward who was rarely substituted in matches without reason. The France captain’s half-time substitution against Monaco, on Friday night, was the fourth time in consecutive Ligue 1 matches that Mbappé was either replaced or didn’t start the match. The 25-year-old’s premature replacement was not injury-related as Luis Enrique revealed after the match.

Speaking on After Foot, Riolo slammed the decision to substitute Mbappé at the break, “It’s another episode in the circus… And we still have 6 months of circus, we are only at the beginning.”

Following his criticism of the way the situation is being handled, Riolo then held nothing back when going onto criticise PSG manager Luis Enrique. The RMC broadcaster, said, “I do not like him. Humanly, I don’t think he’s a good person. I think he’s a pretentious person who doesn’t have much value. I think he’s a copycat and a spiritual child of Guardiola.”
