Kylian Mbappé attends emotional BBQ at Parc des Princes with Parisian Ultras

Paris Saint Germain’s departing talisman Kylian Mbappé (25) is currently attending a barbecue with the Collectif Ultras Parisiens (CUP), PSG’s number 1 ultras group.

Kylian Mbappé bids farewell to Ultras as PSG exit looms

As reported by RMC journalist Arthur Perrot , the Frenchman has spent the evening in the company of PSG’s most vocal and vociferous supporters, almost immediately after announcing his departure via the club’s official media channels.

The club’s record goalscorer also addressed the hundreds of supporters who had gathered to bid him farewell, giving a short speech to thank them for their consistent backing:

“I wanted to thank you. It’s not yet over because we still have the Coupe de France final to play. It was important to thank you for everything you’ve done for me and my family, not only on a sporting level but also on a human level.

It was important for me to come back here to Paris, to grow as a player and also as a man. The memories I keep with my teammates are especially human memories. Emotions, all of the amazing atmospheres.. These are the things I want to remember rather than a particular goal I scored. I have been lucky to represent this club, people don’t realise what it means to represent PSG. For 7 years, I’ve been lucky to be able to savour each moment, the good moments as well as the bad. There is still this pride.

I wanted to say thank you but also good luck, to wish you all the best for what’s to come, for you and your families. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see each other again someday, but thank you all in any case.

It was a family affair for the Mbappé’s, with Kylian sitting with his brother Ethan (17), also a PSG player who appeared twice in Ligue 1 this season. The atmosphere was mostly boisterous but good natured, with ultras setting off flares in front of the stadium.

It is widely expected that Mbappé will join Spanish champions and Champions League finalists Real Madrid upon the expiration of his PSG contract this summer, with an official announcement from the Iberian capital to follow after their UEFA Champions League final date with Borussia Dortmund on June 1.
