Lens target Strasbourg’s head of recruitment Loïc Désiré after strange Mike Mode departure

RC Lens will target Loïc Désiré as their next head of recruitment in the fallout of the Mike Mode fiasco

Mode, a former amateur footballer and director of youth recruitment at Sevilla for the past 8 months was appointed to Lens’s head of recruitment in March but was let go less than a week into his new role. L’Équipe reported that there were doubts within the club over the veracity of his early career.

When contacted by Foot Mercato, Mode did not wish to respond to their request for a comment.

Lens return to an earlier path: Loïc Désiré

This situation has led Lens back to a more established candidate in France, with Désiré the head of recruitment at RC Strasbourg since 2016, now targeted by the northern club. According to Foot Mercato, Désiré had been interviewed for the role which went to Mode but following this fiasco could now reignite their interest in the Strasbourg man.
