Lyon predicted XI v Lorient: Alexandre Lacazette, Orel Mangala and Ainsley Maitland-Niles absent

Olympique Lyonnais will be without some key figures as they travel to face FC Lorient on Saturday afternoon, with Alexandre Lacazette, Orel Mangala and Ainsley Maitland-Niles all absent.

Maitland-Niles is out through suspension after seeing red last weekend, Mangala is ill and Lacazette remains absent after being substituted in Lyon’s Coupe de France victory over RC Strasbourg Alsace. Gift Orban will lead the line in the absence of the captain. The big-name absences are a blow for Pierre Sage, who is looking to show a response to last weekend’s 3-0 loss against RC Lens.

In better news for OL, Nicolás Tagliafico will be fit to start. The Argentinian had been a doubt after suffering a minor knock, but he recovered in time to face 13th-placed Lorient.

Lyon likely lineup v Lorient

Anthony Lopes; Nicolás Tagliafico, Duje Caleta-Car, Jake O’Brien, Clinton Mata; Nemanja Matić; Saïd Benrahma, Corentin Tolisso, Maxence Caqueret, Rayan Cherki; Gift Orban. (L’Éq)
