Manchester United face Premier League competition to sign OGC Nice’s Melvin Bard

As reported by The Evening StandardManchester United have an interest in OGC Nice left-back Melvin Bard (23). However, Foot Mercato have now added that the Red Devils may face Premier League competition for the Frenchman.

Despite the arrival of competition at left-back, in the form of Romain Perraud, Bard has featured prominently, featuring on 28 occasions for Nice this season, registering two assists in this time. It has been the most accomplished season of Bard’s career as a professional and with just two years remaining on his deal at the Allianz Riviera, a move could be on the cards at the end of the season.

A move to INEOS-affiliated Manchester United has been touted by The Evening Standard. Foot Mercato have confirmed this information but added that other, unnamed Premier League clubs have also added Bard to their shortlists as the summer transfer window approaches. Bard’s time with Nice may be coming to an end, but the Riviera club will be confident of garnering a significant fee should a battle for his signature ensue.
