Marcus Thuram and Antoine Griezmann suffer injuries in Inter v Atlético Madrid clash

According to L’Équipe, Inter’s Marcus Thuram (26) and Atlético Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann (32) suffered injuries in the clash between their two respective clubs.

The Champions League clash between the Serie A league leaders and La Liga club proved to be a costly night for French attackers with both Les Bleus international forwards sustaining an injury. However, neither player’s international tournament hopes for the summer are thought to be in doubt.

Thuram is the player of the two who came off worse on the night as he had to be withdrawn at half-time for the only eventual goalscorer in the match – Marko Arnautović. The 26-year-old has suffered an adductor injury and is set for further medical tests on Thursday to understand the full extent of his injury. Inter are not worried about the injury, L’Équipe report.

Griezmann suffered a twisted ankle and underwent tests on Wednesday afternoon. Like Inter, Atléti are not worried about the injury and expect the France international to only be out of action for a short amount of time.
