Marquinhos unlikely to be fit for PSG against Nice

According to Le Parisien, Marquinhos (29) is unlikely to be fit for PSG ahead of their upcoming Coupe de France quarter-final clash against Nice on Wednesday.

The Brazilian international has been suffering from injury since he was forced off against Nantes on the 17th of February. Marquinhos is now suffering from an Achilles tendon issue which has kept him out of Les Parisiens’ last 4 games against Monaco, Rennes, Reims and Real Sociedad.

PSG hoped to have their captain back for their second leg in the Champions League against Sociedad. However, after informing medical staff that he still had some discomfort from the injury in their final session ahead of the European tie, he was left out.

Still training

Despite his struggles with injury, the 29-year-old continues to train with his PSG teammates, according to Le Parisien. Nevertheless, with his fitness still a doubt, he is likely to miss out in another match for Paris as they continue their hunt for an unprecedented treble.
