Marseille predicted XI v Montpellier: Jonathan Clauss suspended, Ulisses Garcia to start

Jean-Louis Gasset became the fourth manager of the season for Olympique de Marseille when he was appointed ahead of the second leg of their Europa League tie against Shakhtar Donetsk. The experienced head got off to a perfect start as he brought about Les Phocéens’ first win since early January.

The drama around Jonathan Clauss could continue for another week as the fullback serves his suspension ahead of Montpellier HSC’s visit. Clauss has been at the centre of the latest chaos to envelop the club, as sporting director Medhi Benatia briefed against the player during interviews this month.

In his place, Ulisses Garcia will start on the right as part of the club’s switch from a back four to a back five. Up front, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Faris Moumbagna will look to carry on their momentum from the midweek victory into the league as the club hoped to turn their season around.
