Mike Maignan misses AC Milan’s post-season Australian tour

After suffering a finger injury, that had put his participation in this summer’s Euros in doubt, Mike Maignan (28) will be absent from AC Milan’s post-season tour of Australia. He will instead join up with the France national team later this week.

Maignan suffered the injury during a training session on Thursday morning. As a result, he missed AC Milan’s 3-3 draw against Salernitana over the weekend, as had been expected. Recovering from a muscular injury, the Frenchman has not played an official match for the Italian side since 22nd April.

France’s No.1 goalkeeper has now been authorised to miss AC Milan’s post-season tour Down Under, which begins on Monday. His international teammates, Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud, will, however, make the trip to Australia for the tour. Maignan, whose finger is neither broken nor fractured, did nonetheless require stitches, according to L’Équipe. He will instead meet up with the national team on Wednesday, ahead of the Euros, which starts on 14th June.
