Official | Antonine Kombouaré reappointed as Nantes manager

FC Nantes have appointed Antoine Kombouaré as their next manager less than a year after sacking him from the post.

Kombouaré had been relieved of his duties with only four games to go last May as the club attempted to stave off relegation. Pierre Aristouy was appointed to the role and managed to guide the team to safety.

This season, Aristouy was sacked with the team in midtable while his replacement Jocelyn Gourvennec oversaw a downward slide which now leaves the club in the relegation playoff spot with eight games of the season remaining.

Kombouaré has now been appointed for the same reason that he was previously fired for, to rescue the club. Despite how his time at the club ended, under Kombouaré there was also success.

The manager led the team to two successive Coupe de France finals. Winning the first in 2022 against OGC Nice, before losing the second last season to Toulouse FC in a 5-1 demolition.
