Paulo Fonseca a potential target for Marseille at the end of his Lille contract

According to Foot Mercato, Paulo Fonseca’s future is still open with the end of his contract at Lille soon approaching. An option for the Portuguese coach is the Marseille post which has recently been vacated by Gennaro Gattuso

Gattuso is set to be replaced in the short term by former Côte d’Ivoire manager Jean-Louis Gasset until the end of the season. However, Les Olympiens are considering candidates for the longer term and Fonseca is one of the names on that list. Former PSG and Lille manager Christophe Galtier is also being considered for the job.

The former Roma manager’s future is still unknown with his Lille contract expiring at the end of the 2023/24 season. No contract talks have been opened about Fonseca extending his stay at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. The former Shakhtar Donetsk coach has not been short of interest in the past with Newcastle United previously interested in appointing Fonseca before the appointed Eddie Howe.
