WATCH | PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe makes next step in recovery from injury

Presnel Kimpembe (28) has not played for Paris Saint-Germain since February 2023, however, a video posted by the France international on Instagram has shown that he is finally nearing a return.

The centre-back’s journey back to the fold has been an arduous and painful one. Having suffered an achilles tendon injury last February, he underwent surgery, which not only ruled him out of the 2022/23 campaign, but also saw him miss the start of the current season too.

Kimpembe then returned to training in December, but whilst he reportedly neared a return to the first-team, something wasn’t right. He continued to feel discomfort in the affected ankle and as a result, he underwent a second operation in January. “Road to recovery again. Thank you for your support. Strength to come back stronger,” he said on social media.

Kimpembe to return before the end of the season?

Two months later, and Kimpembe has now had his protective boot removed and he is once again able to walk normally, as he showed in a video posted on Instagram. PSG have not set a return date for the France international, however, reports have hypothesised a return before the end of the season.
