Xavi on PSG vs Barcelona rivalry: “It’s difficult to manage”

Barcelona manager Xavi spoke at the Parc des Princes ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg tie against the Catalan side. Xavi spoke about the difficulties of managing a newly-founded rivalry between both clubs and sets of supporters, in the context of Barça’s Tweet depicting their players drawn onto Parisian monuments.

It’s difficult to manage all that [externally],” said the former Champions League-winning midfielder. “I hope that nothing bad will happen [between the two sets of fans] and that people will have a good time during the match, with a lot of respect between the supporters of both teams.”

Koundé on PSG-Barça : “It’s a special one, especially away from home”

Barcelona and France national team defender Jules Koundé also spoke about the rivalry between the two sides. “There’s a lot of history and there’s also a lot which has gone on behind the scenes,” said the former Girondins de Bordeaux defender. “It’s a special match, but not necessarily for us, because there are a lot of young players. It’s not a match we’re taking any more personally than that.”
